Our Story
Hi! I'm Christy, a therapist, a Positive Discipline Parent Educator and the founder of Modern Mom Online. I'm also a Mom of three young children. After experiencing postpartum anxiety with my first born child, I've made it my mission to make treatment for pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders ACCESSIBLE and less intimidating. My dream came true when I opened the doors to Bloom Counseling + Wellness Studio, a counseling practice in Louisville, Kentucky in September 2017. Since opening our doors we have helped hundreds of women and families with a range of maternal mental health concerns.
Even before the pandemic hit, my mind had been in overdrive. How could I expand my passion for helping moms to reach even more people? What if I could offer a convenient, confidential way for women to get the support they need from highly trained experts in the field? I decided to create an online brand of Bloom Counseling called Modern Mom Online. Our mission at Modern Mom Online is to eliminate the stigma surrounding maternal mental health and provide access to quality mental health care via telehealth to as many women in the reproductive years as possible.
